Artem Is Sep 17, 2014 2:33 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Hello Liybiri, thank you for your answer. Could you precise please when your are talking about the the cleaning of Preferences, is it enough to launch CleanPreferencesWin file?

Lilybiri Sep 17, 2014 2:35 AM (in response to Artem Is)Yes, but first close Captivate. You will lose customisation, but if the cause is corruption of Captivate this often solves the problem. When you restart CP, a fresh Preferences folder will be created.

Artem Is Sep 17, 2014 3:55 AM (in response to Lilybiri)It's ramming just a little bit less, but still not enough to permit a good viewing of module. By the way, I followed your instructions, but the Preferences menu that opens in the Publishing window saved all my modification pre-established (I'm talking about Project information), does it mean that the Preferences refresh didn't work? Another element that can probably help to find the reason of the problem. The engine checking the viewed sections in the side menu of swf, didn't check the sections on which it is ramming a lot.

Lilybiri Sep 17, 2014 5:26 AM (in response to Artem Is)It has nothing to do with the Project details but with Captivate Preferences like custom workspaces, edited themes...And you did delete the cache?

Artem Is Sep 17, 2014 9:39 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Absolutely, I did in the Preferences at first but, when it didn't worked, I launched CleanPreferencesWin file in the Unit folder. But still no postive result... Would you need some additional information on my project? I can make some screenshots if it's necessary, just tell me.

Lilybiri Sep 18, 2014 1:35 AM (in response to Artem Is)Wondering if your system's performance is sufficient? Captivate is a pretty heavy application, especially when working with larger files. The minimum specified by Adobe is way too low in my opinion. Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit version?

Artem Is Sep 19, 2014 12:53 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Here are the system's preformance of the computer I work at. Evaluation 3.5 performance index, Processor Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93 GHz. RAM: 4.00 Go. System type: 64 bits. And the Captivate version I'm running is also 64-bit.

Lilybiri Sep 19, 2014 2:02 AM (in response to Artem Is)Hmmm, pretty low. Just FYI: my old laptop (>4yrs) has index 5.9, and I want to replace it. My desktop (2yrs) has 7.8 and still is doing his job well. Starting to believe this is the culprit, and wonder if you wouldn't be better with the 32-bit version of CP. You don't mention a graphics card (IMO very important), which means that those 4GB even have to be shared (have 12GB on laptop and 32GB on desktop). It is a not so performant processor, in combination with no graphics card and little RAM, probably not a SSD for applications but a normal HDD, for huge files this could cause the delays.
Sorry, hope this doesn't sound too insulting, but often had to tell users that they have not a very performant system, and that Captivate can feel like being very slow in that case.

Artem Is Sep 19, 2014 2:24 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Thank you for your time and this explicit answer. I don’t sound insulting at all. Furthermore, I thought from the very beginning that it was the problem. At the same time it's a working desktop, and I've already asked to replace it to the new one. So if I understand you well, to produce the modules with a rather big size, the performance should be at least:
6 performance index, Ram 12 Go. And what would you advise me like a processor, and Graphics card ?
As I understand, it's only the problem while publication. And once the module is published in a performing station, you can easily view it on any computer without any bug, even if it's not very perfuming?

Lilybiri Sep 19, 2014 2:45 AM (in response to Artem Is)You do not need a performing system to watch a published module, since you can even watch on a tablet, mobile phone which both don't have a very performing processor.
As processor at least an i-5 (preferring an i-7 myself but I'm a multitasker, have often other Adobe Applications open like Photoshop, Audition). Even 8GB Ram could do the trick if you don't multitask, but I insist on a dedicated graphics card. My personal preference is NVidia, because they work very well with the big Adobe applications.

Artem Is Oct 29, 2014 7:20 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Hello, Lilybiri. I do thank you once again for your time and your expertise. I've just tried to produce the module on the computer with very high performances, but still the problem is not solved. I should say that it's bugging less, but still after 10 minuntes of perfect running, the second part of module (the automatic screen captures in demo mode) is ramming, and the beginning of phrases are not audible. One more thing, on the Chrome browser the module is running much better that in Explorer. I tried to reconstruct from zero on part of 3 minutes, but the result has not changed. What could you advise me ?
