1. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
Ann Bens Jul 10, 2014 6:48 AM (in response to frbra1)There is a bug in CC14 export to mp4.
You will have to wait for an update.
Or export to a lossless codec and encode with CC7.

frbra1 Jul 10, 2014 7:00 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Thanks for your reply!
I've tried so many things for hours this morning, so it relieves me to know the answer.
Do you think this will work then:
Pr export AVI(Uncompressed) file.
Bring into Prelude CC7 and transcode into H.264?

Ann Bens Jul 10, 2014 8:44 AM (in response to frbra1)Avi with Lagarith or UT. File is smaller.
Or AMECC7.

4. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
frbra1 Jul 10, 2014 11:09 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Okay, so I tried AVI(Uncompressed) but the flicker is still there. I also tried Quicktime/mov but flicker still occours.
I'm unfamiliar with LAgarith, UT and AMECC7 can you explain how I do it? I can't find it in the export settings..

scottbarber Sep 15, 2014 10:57 AM (in response to frbra1)My footage looks exactly like this, no matter what export settings I use. Very frustrating. Have you found a solution?

ADHDork Sep 29, 2014 10:47 AM (in response to frbra1)This is happening to me: Re: Video flicker with Nvidia video card, even after rolling back drivers (Premiere Pro CC 2014)
Have you found a solution or workaround?

7. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
Rivkah73 Sep 29, 2014 1:27 PM (in response to frbra1)I'm having the same problem when I try to export my sequence. It's fine within Premiere when I play it back, but once I try and export it to something that can be uploaded to youtube, vimeo, etc. it has all of these annoying flickers/flashes throughout the entire piece. I have tried changing bit rates, keyframe distances - nothing works. I've tried multiple formats for export, sizes - again, nothing gets rid of it. I do have a lot of still photos I've added motion to, and I've applied the anti-flicker function to the max on every single one of them - but it makes no difference.

8. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
Johnnyoutback Oct 29, 2014 7:59 AM (in response to frbra1)Well at least I can put my feet up on the console now that I know it's software bug(s) and not something I did incorrectly. This flickering has driven me insane for a month (or more). Completely unacceptible for version 8.whatever of software. I'm thinking that the Adobe PP software in general is buggy - it crashes quite a bit as well - and maybe I should have gone with Avid... Anyone hear anything from Adobe about this and if they are at least "working on it"?

Kevin-Monahan Oct 29, 2014 8:03 AM (in response to Johnnyoutback)Hi JohnnyOutback,
Can we get more info? FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
Check to see if you have any Warp Stabilizer effects applied.
Thanks,
Kevin

ADHDork Oct 29, 2014 8:14 AM (in response to Johnnyoutback)I haven't heard anything back from my thread (similar issue). I had to downgrade to CC.

11. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
Johnnyoutback Oct 29, 2014 8:25 AM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)Definitely NO warp stabilizer effect applied.
It was worst when I had 5 video layers - 1: QT background; 2: jpeg scaled to 73%; opacity 35% and "roughen Edges" effect; 3: Title; 4: Title; 5: png, repositioned, scaled with drop shadow. It plays perfectly prior to rendering, but after rendering the flickering demonstrated in the first post above occurs. Also occurs in exported files. I solved MOST of this by creating the first 2 layers in After Effects and using the one track. Minor flickering still occurs at times...
It also occurs on a shot of a person in front of a green screen with "Ultra Key" applied and repositioned left in the frame. It seems fine before repositioning. After repositioning, the white flickers appear in the renders.
SOMETIMES it will render correctly but still appear in the exported file even if I have "Use Previews" selected.
I will ty to post a couple of examples to YouTube, but the example from above https://vimeo.com/100396813 is what happens...

12. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
Kevin-Monahan Oct 29, 2014 8:34 AM (in response to Johnnyoutback)Hi Johnny,
In the other thread, users indicated that they got flicker on updated projects, but in new projects there was no flicker. Is this the case with your system as well?
Thanks,
Kevin

13. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
Johnnyoutback Oct 29, 2014 8:36 AM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)I will have to check that out. At this point I can’t remember if this project was started in CC and upgraded to CC2014. Thanks for the tip

14. Re: How to eliminate mysterious flicker?
scottbarber Oct 29, 2014 10:54 AM (in response to Johnnyoutback)After many lengthy phone calls to Adobe, and numerous forum posts about this same issue, the only workaround seems to be to go back to CC, and ditch CC 2014 all together.

SAFEHARBOR11 Oct 29, 2014 11:11 AM (in response to scottbarber)TURN OFF Frame Blending (in response to OP). Why is that box checked?
That should help
