bookmarks appearance

This started happening quite a while ago, and I haven't found a resolution for it yet. The bookmarks panel is not displaying properly (Acrobat Pro 9), anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

I am now, but this started long before that, back with Snow Leopard.

I have the same problem with Acrobat Professional 8 on Mavericks (and before).
Have you tried reinstallation? Did it help?
