Downloading creative cloud trial: cookies?

Hi, I am currently trying to download a trail for Adobe Illustrator to see if it is compatible for my needs. I've tried to download the creative cloud but I keep getting a pop up notification that says "Error starting Creative Cloud cookies dir: cannot make folder / cookies: Permission denied (error 13)"

I'm not exactly sure what this means, I've tried enabling and disabling my cookies on my browser and it still comes up.

You may try to download Illustrator cc trial on a different browser.

I've tried chrome and safari both give me the same message.
