Trouble installing flash on OS X 10.9.5

I downloaded the installer for Safari, but after it starts installing (at about 75%), it says "error installing update" or something like that.

I closed all browser windows (and other applications for that matter).

Flash is enabled in Safari (java etc. enabled).

I performed a clean install of flash (after downloading the uninstall app).

And then I downloaded the flash player directly from the help site.

Nothing worked.

I never had issues with flash before.

What to do?

Once they're downloaded, reboot your machine.


Before you do anything else, run the installer you downloaded.

If it's still stuck, do you have any anti-virus/anti-malware software running on your computer?
