Mylenium Jan 12, 2014 12:56 AM (in response to ohheckyeah)What does "Extras" refer to? Some specific view items? What did you actually do? Some of that stuff is document specific, not program level, and can only be hidden with teh document open. Also, if you think something is not right, you have to provide system info.

ohheckyeah Jan 12, 2014 2:02 PM (in response to Mylenium)I'm sorry. I have Photoshop CC and Extras is under View. It never showed up until I clicked on it with a photo open. I unchecked it before closing out the photo but now any photo I open, opens with Extras. It's annoying....not earth shattering, but annoying.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit if that's important.

Ian Blogs Jan 12, 2014 2:58 PM (in response to ohheckyeah)To turn off all of Photoshop’s extras—that is, guides, grid,
and slices—in one fell swoop, choose View→Extras. But even
if you do that, any extra that’s individually turned on in the
View→Show menu will reappear the next time you open a
document or create a new one, which could drive you bonkers.
The fix is to specifically turn off the offending item—say, the
grid—in the View→Show menu.

ohheckyeah Jan 12, 2014 4:12 PM (in response to Ian Blogs)I've done that....and made sure everything was unchecked in the Show menu and Extras was unchecked. When I close out Photoshop and re-open it the Extras option is check marked again and thus any photo I open has the grid.

ohheckyeah Jan 12, 2014 4:26 PM (in response to Ian Blogs)I think I got it fixed. I had to click on None under the Show option.

Ramigrafx Oct 7, 2014 5:14 PM (in response to ohheckyeah)This feature in Photoshop is crackers. Even if you untick 'extras' it becomes ticked again when photoshop is restarted and hence shows any items ticked in 'show'. Why cannot the tick on 'extras' whether on or off be sticky?
