1. Re: New interface - Your reaction??
DMH79 Oct 7, 2014 6:12 PM (in response to Zooropa75)That blue doesn't bother me really but to hear that you can't go light anymore like you could before is a bummer. I'm one of those 20% I guess that has trouble with dark background and light text. It's much harder on my eyes especially editing 8-10 hours per day. I haven't updated yet. Granted, I always thought the darker appearance looked a lot cooler, but it was just too hard on my eyes. I'd have to see once I update (when some bugs are fixed) if that blue really bothers me too.

Shane P Oct 7, 2014 6:40 PM (in response to DMH79)I replied to an earlier post stating that I thought I was going to hate the blue but it's growing on me. I like how the locks on the tracks, etc highlight blue when in use. I would still prefer the yellow trim as it really popped against the dark background.
My two complaints are the time code could be brighter and the CTI should be like After Effects with the blue play head with the red stem extending down through the tracks.

s.reece Oct 7, 2014 6:54 PM (in response to Zooropa75)I can read ok and don't mind in most areas, but the places were it is quite small ie in/out points and in Media Encoder it's a bit headache inducing. Maybe they could add an option to the appearance settings were you could choose the highlight colour.

John Dimick Oct 7, 2014 7:38 PM (in response to Zooropa75)Gosh, I hate it. It's like I'm looking at a 16-color VGA monitor from the early 1990s.

Trickypix Oct 7, 2014 8:52 PM (in response to Zooropa75)Not crazy about it. Really miss being able to color code my effects folder bins.

jonny9091 Oct 8, 2014 12:15 PM (in response to Zooropa75)There certainly isn't any subtlety to it. It's really hard to read the blue text in the Effect Controls window. It doesn't matter how light or dark you make the background...it's flat-out hard to read.
Pretty bad considering this company creates DESIGN software.

OCA Oct 8, 2014 1:49 PM (in response to Zooropa75)I actually like it, for me it's just popping out on sight nicely. Maybe a bit too much, I don't know. But I feel the same as Trickypix about the Effect folder bins.

melat3mg Oct 8, 2014 2:57 PM (in response to Zooropa75)First thing I did was go in the preferences to change the HORRIBLE neon blue highlighting. Can't change it.
Nice move. Looking forward to staring at that for hours on end in both Premier & After Effects. This is beyond ridiculous.

G_W Oct 9, 2014 1:21 AM (in response to Zooropa75)I really like it. I did bump up the brightness just a bit but overall its a nice change (for me).

ali_jaber Oct 9, 2014 3:29 AM (in response to Zooropa75)I really like the new interface changes, but it would be cool to be able to change colors or darkness in preferences

14. Re: New interface - Your reaction??
Kiukaichi Oct 9, 2014 7:36 AM (in response to Zooropa75)The blue is ugly indeed. Yellow would stand out from the grey and would be easy on the eyes. Blue is a killer. I mean, really, Adobe guys, please let the end-user be the ruler of this - give us the option to adjust these crucial colors. This would be most reasonable. Instead of dictating, what's best, let us set the program to our maximum comfort. Other than that, really excited to see the new Cineform codec. Amazing addon.

15. Re: New interface - Your reaction??
andreas schrader Oct 9, 2014 10:31 AM (in response to Zooropa75)Apart from the fact that people how like light interface can’t use it anymore, there was not reason to reduce the range of greys.
And I don’t understand why Adobe keeps re-inventing user interface controls and always makes it worse. Currently there are three flavours available:
[1] Photoshop
[2] InDesign and Illustrator (which I like best for their design and usability)
[3] Premiere and Media Encoder (which are both ugly and lack features in terms of usability)
Adobe please keep in mind, Application are not websites! It is not cool just because it looks different.
Use a set of controls that is consitent with the operating system.

El Director Oct 9, 2014 12:35 PM (in response to Zooropa75)For what it's worth, as a working professional, I love the new look and color scheme. A lot. I say bravo to the design team. The amber colors of yesteryear were way too harsh on my eyes. This is nice, very smooth. Keep it up, guys.
