1. Re: Captivate 7 - Incorrect Answers not allowing quiz to Continue. Buttons not functioning correctly (Clear, Back, Next). I have Knowledge Check
Lilybiri Oct 13, 2014 1:58 PM (in response to alaurent1201)What are the Quiz settings? Did you change anything to the question master slides? Where is the pausing point of the question slides? What are the actions for Success and for Last Attempt? How many attempts do you provide on Question level?

RodWard Oct 13, 2014 5:14 PM (in response to Lilybiri)In addition to Lilybiri's suggestions, have a look at the Quiz > Settings > Required option. It may be set to force the learner to answer each question correctly.

alaurent1201 Oct 14, 2014 5:59 PM (in response to RodWard)Thank you, but I set it to All Questions Need to be Answered, not to Quiz Must be Passed.

alaurent1201 Oct 14, 2014 6:05 PM (in response to Lilybiri)Thank you. I changed the question master slides to show the company logo (this background was used on other quizzes previously). It did not seem to affect the questions. My settings specify that the students need to answer all questions. The action that I had to set for Success was to Move to the Next Slide. I'm not sure what I set for Last Attempt. They have unlimited attempts for the Knowledge Check questions that are interspersed throughout the course. For the Assessment, they have 1 attempt, but they can re-take the test if they fail.
I can't access the Forums at work and can't bring my work home, so I have to try to recreate this in my mind.
One of the biggest problems I have right now is the fact that the Incorrect Answer message doesn't function. I can clear the question and put in the correct answers - then move to the next slide or question, but where it says "click anywhere or press Y", just sits there and looks at me. My manager isn't happy about my workaround, so I have to come up with a solution.

RodWard Oct 15, 2014 7:06 PM (in response to alaurent1201)This is beginning to sound like you may have messed with the default quiz questions in some way and broken their functionality.
Did you by any chance remove any of the default elements on any of your quiz questions? E.g. did you delete any of the default Quiz Title or Quiz Question captions that appear when you add a new Quiz Question? If so, you've broken them and will need to insert new quiz question slides to replace the old ones.

alaurent1201 Oct 16, 2014 2:42 AM (in response to RodWard)Hi - Thanks for all your suggestions. No, I did not change any of the default elements. HOWEVER, I did inherit this project and last night, recreated some of it at home from scratch. I set up a sample quiz and was able to navigate successfully. My screens look different from those in my projects, however (the Incorrect Answers and Correct Answers have a different look), so you may be right. I'm going to have to go back to that project and start the quizzing over from the beginning. I'm hoping I can still use my Question Pools, I feel confident that I can get this to work the way it's supposed to on my work project.

7. Re: Captivate 7 - Incorrect Answers not allowing quiz to Continue. Buttons not functioning correctly (Clear, Back, Next). I have Knowledge Check
alaurent1201 Nov 2, 2014 4:39 AM (in response to RodWard)Thank you for your response. No. I didn't do anything like that. I figured that I should probably divide this into 2 parts and aggregate them. That was going to work, but I checked with one of our other users in TX. He told me that what they always do is to divide up the presentations into 2 parts. They don't aggregate them, but instead, let the LMS take care of going from the learning module (with the Knowledge Check questions) to the Assessment Module. Once you exit from the learning module, you immediately go into the assessment.
Captivate 7 doesn't really allow for this type of test without aggregation or an LMS. You can have a pre-test, but it expects those questions to come at the beginning of the course, not to be interspersed throughout the course. I also found that using the Question Pools gave me more flexibility in moving Knowledge Check questions around using the Filmstrip.
The other interesting thing was that the TX expert told me to remove the Accessibility Feature because, apparently, it causes other parts of Captivate not to work. I found that to be strange.
