What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so when you can.
Immediate issue appears to be the Keyframe 142 issue. We had a recent thread here where the problem was resolved with the uninstall/reinstall.
But there is an Adobe document that gives a how to for this error which involves a perl download. Please see full details.
Keyframe.h-142 error | Opening projects
Please review and consider the above, and then let us know the results.
Thank you.

Thanks for the reply.
Please let us know the outcome, especially if the uninstall/reinstall does not work and you try the perl method.
This morning Tobias has reported that the problem is back after the uninstall reinstall appeared to have solved the problem.
We will be looking forward to your results.

Gondiswiler47 Oct 18, 2014 4:51 AM (in response to A.T. Romano)Dear A.T.Romano!
After I installed the program from activate.com, I tried to repair the broken projectfiles today. In the „command"-line wrote the following term:
perl -p -e "s/(+?),({12,24})/$1.$2/g" C:\Users\Walter Video\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements\12.0\Elsass_2014_2.prel >C:\Users\Walter Video\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements\12.0\ Elsass_2014_2-5-Kopie.prel
and the aktivitate changed in the root different things. But Adobe Premiere elements 12 is still not able to open the (perhaps still broken) files. I do have still the same errors as you can see in the attachements.
Even I don’t know, if I have to open the old or the ne wand renamed file. I tried both, but nothing worked.
Kind regards

Thanks for the follow up.
I have not yet used the perl method for trying to solve the keyframe 142 error, but these are my initial impressions as I read your details that are
not working when you follow the perl method from the Adobe document cited above.
The command and damaged and corrected files location are supposed to be
perl -p -e "s/([-0-9]+?),([0-9]{12,24})/$1.$2/g" damaged.prel >newfile.prel
How did you decide on
perl -p -e "s/(+?),({12,24})
Is it possible to model the location of the damaged and corrected file to meet the Adobe document.
perl -p -e "s/([-0-9]+?),([0-9]{12,24})/$1.$2/g" C:\Damaged\Elsass.prel>C:\Damaged\Elsass1.prel.
There you would put a folder named Damaged on the C drive. And, in that folder named Damaged, place the damaged file
named Elsass.prel. At the end of the procedure, then you would look for your corrected file in that same folder and recognize it by the new name Elsass1.
I have not gotten this keyframe 142 error and have not run through the perl method. But the above is how I might
go about trying it. Also watch for the progress from Don and others.
I will continue to follow the progress of all on this matter.
