1. Re: fluid grid positioning
Nancy O. Oct 18, 2014 2:40 PM (in response to Deb205)There's no reason to use positioning for anything in Fluid Grid layouts. It's all built on floated divs. So if you've built mobile first, everything should be full width. Then build your Tablet layout with perhaps 2 columns. And finally build Desktop with say 3 - 5 columns.

2. Re: fluid grid positioning
RR456 Oct 18, 2014 3:32 PM (in response to Deb205)In addition to the excellent help you have access to on this forum, I found a helpful resource to also be courses on Train Simple http://www.trainsimple.com
Matt Pizzzi in particular has a course titled Dreamweaver CC Fluid Grid Layouts.
Since DW CC 2014.1 has removed Design View in Fluid Grid and Matt's course pretty much has you building the site using Design View that could be somewhat more of a challenge; but, it still might be a good learning experience. And, much of what Matt discusses regarding Design View can probably, for page building purposes, carry over to the basic functionalities of Live View. That is, the insert of various elements in the Fluid Grid.
Matt also provided a good background and understanding of what the heck this Fluid Grid, or Responsive Web Design (RWD), is all about. And Matt, just as the great David Powers with his courses on http://www.lynda.com, provides you with excellent reference and resource materials.
Hope it helps.

3. Re: fluid grid positioning
Deb205 Oct 18, 2014 4:22 PM (in response to Deb205)Thank you both so much. While I have you guys on the line, may I ask another question? How would I design a mockup for a fluid grid layout, PS isn't doing the trick. I saw that DW has a program called Reflow. Are there any others out there that might be free? Thanks.

Nancy O. Oct 18, 2014 5:00 PM (in response to Deb205)Which version of DW are you using?
I haven't used Reflow so I can't really comment on it.

The new Extract feature in CC 2014 October release might help you with PSDs.
