There seems to several reports of this Keyframe Error 142.
Have you seen the thread of Don Knobi
Have you gone through the Adobe document description of the perl method?

Hoerup Oct 21, 2014 11:26 AM (in response to A.T. Romano)Hey A.T. Romano
Thanks for you answer. I tryed the perl method. When I type in the command in cmd - prompt it gives me this answer, "'perl' is not recognized as an internal or external command. operable program or batch file."
But it does make a new .prel file, but when I try to open that file in Premiere it comes with this respond "The project appears to be damaged, it cannt be opened."
I still have the original file with the encountered an error. What is next for me to try?

Thanks for the update. Sorry that the news was not better.
There are several cases of keyframe error 142 being reporting, some for version 12 and some for version 13.
In your case, we may be able to get some help from Adobe via its Adobe Chat since you have purchased, registered, latest version
Premiere Elements.13. Let us see what Adobe Chat can do for us. Please click on the following link

Hoerup Oct 22, 2014 1:42 PM (in response to PRE_help)Hey pre_help
Nice to hear from you.
1. I'm working in Windows 8.1 and in danish. My computer is IntelCore i7 with 8 GB ram.
2. My language in Adobe Premiere Elements 13.0 is in english
3. The hole .prel file will not open. It is loading until 67% when the error "Premiere Elements has encountered an error" - [c:\adobe\pre\main\mediacore\mediafoundation\api\inc\Keyframe/Keyframe.h-142] shows up.
Do you want the file so you can try to fix it? And what can I do to avoid it to happen again? It's not fun to start on a new file and then you dont know if that will come up with a error to.

PRE_help Nov 5, 2014 12:43 AM (in response to Hoerup)Hi,
While we have not fixed the problem as yet, we understand that this is caused because of Apple iCloud installed. To get rid of this problem, please go to Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ folder and rename ShellStream64.dll to ShellStrream64_dll so that this does not get used. Let us know if there is any machine that has this problem and does not have Apple iCloud installed on it.
While this will not open the already affected projects (we are working on this), this will ensure that the projects created after renaming ShellStream64.dll will not have any issues when opening them later on. This is only a preventive step.

Hoerup Nov 5, 2014 1:13 AM (in response to PRE_help)Hello
Thanks for the answer.
Will it give any problems to icloud when I rename from ShellStream64.dll to ShellStrream64_dll?
I'll hope to hear from you soon with the affected project file.

PRE_help Nov 5, 2014 1:33 AM (in response to Hoerup)Hi,
This link has details on what this dll does. You can rename it when using Premiere Elements, and rename it back to original when done using PRE. This should be understood only as a temporary workaround till we fix the problem.
We will get back as and when we have a reliable fix for correcting the corrupt project files. You can help us by attaching the project files that are do not open so we can take a look at them and understand the various nature of corruptions.
Thanks,

Hoerup Nov 5, 2014 2:13 AM (in response to PRE_help)Hello
I have already send you a affected .prel file, but I can send one again. Where do I attach it?
I already have a new file that works but where the sound is bad on the right speaker then the left speaker. The "audio meter" is also showing that its only the left speaker that works right.
I have looked at the balance and diffent settings and every thing looks "normal".
Do you want a copy of that file to?

PRE_help Nov 5, 2014 2:28 AM (in response to Hoerup)HI,
You can send the prel files to prehelp@adobe.com mentioning the following:
1. The steps that went into creating this project.
2. iCloud installed?
3. Where was the project saved Default location in Documents or someplace else?)
