    Another Encore problem

      1. In the middle of the "Build Progress" Encore stops and the following popup error appears (Sense code 52100). Help!

      2.I read in Stan's comments that Encore is not the most reliable dvd burning program. Can you recommend  another, preferably

      on Lynda.com so I can learn it?

          Just to clarify: Encore is an Authoring program that also has a Burning aspect. Authoring refers to the putting together of the DVD/Bluray - menus, navigation, demuxing/muxing the original files/streams into the DVD/bluray specification requirements. No authoring programs are perfect, and Encore is relatively good for that. but it has never had a robust burning element.

           

          The "Build" panel has 3 options that are useful for DVD/bluray burning: burn to disk, create a folder, create an image (iso file). Sometimes, you can build to a folder or image when you can't burn a disk. In those circumstances, using a third party program to burn the disk can be useful.

           

          For PC, many of us love ImgBurn. (See John's cautions in this thread to avoid adding toolbars etc when installing ImgBurn: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1322583.) For Mac, Toast seems the most popular option.
