1. Re: CP8.01 HTML5 Preview Error
emily_vijf Oct 22, 2014 6:18 AM (in response to xr42nv)Hi -
I am also having this same issue - Error 404. I am unable to run any of the preview course options, with the exception of Play Slide for Responsive Projects. My only option is to publish the HTML5 course and open it in a web browser. Yesterday, I was able to preview but the playback was strange/erratic, just figured it was a problem with how it generated the responsive project, but today, nothing works. I am experiencing the browser preview problem with non-responsive projects as well.
I am on version: 8.0.1.242. I also cleared my Captivate cache and am experiencing no change.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks all!

renee1972 Oct 22, 2014 6:21 AM (in response to xr42nv)I have had some issues since upgrading to 8.01. The buttons don't work in previews for responsive projects, but they do for non-responsive. This may for for different reasons. Someone suggested checking in a browser other than my default (Chrome) but that didn't work either.

Lilybiri Oct 22, 2014 5:02 PM (in response to xr42nv)Indeed, it is in the recommendations that no one reads. Omitting deleting
both can cause issues.

emily_vijf Oct 23, 2014 3:39 AM (in response to xr42nv)Yes, I removed the files Preferences, Layouts, and Sample Projects. I also tried that again yesterday but to no avail. This morning I did a complete uninstall and reinstall and took the update - just in case I missed a step. No luck, yet.

ailearning Oct 23, 2014 5:30 AM (in response to emily_vijf)Same here, I deleted the folders but no luck either.
I deleted the Layouts and Preferences (aswell as the Sample Projects) and still recieve the error.
Any ideas?

rc_mantis Oct 23, 2014 6:24 AM (in response to ailearning)I'm just running the trial after reading a good review of this latest version. But I'm getting a similar glitch, one of many it feels like. May have to stay with Articulate at this rate. Had been really excited about this release :-(

shriyanshagnihotri Nov 3, 2014 3:33 AM (in response to xr42nv)Hi There,
Are you using Mac or PC?
If PC then is your username of windows account has spaces in between like, "John Dow"? If so then can you try to use an account with no spaces eg: "JohnDow" and then open the captivate from that account to preview a project.
else if you are using Mac can you check that are you using any proxy in your web server.
Let us know your comments.
