Audio conforming / Pek file generation

    Shane P Community Member

      Hi,

I've been running 8.1.0 on my Win 7 Pro desktop and it has been rock solid with the exception of a couple of audio conforming / pek file generation issues. To trouble shoot the issues I trashed my pref file and deleted both of the media cache folders to force creation of new files. Additionally I had my media cache folders set to an external HD, For the sake of trouble shooting I made them the default location again in App Data>>>Adobe>Common. All Media in the project file was imported via the Media Browser. I am working with MTS footage.

When I launch PP and open a project file (projects files were created in 8.1.0), PP shows the progress bar on the bottom right of the app as it load the files. Once the files have finished loading it starts conforming the audio and generating the pek files. Perfect. Once the processes have completed I save and close the project file leaving PP running.

From the PP start up screen I then select another project file to open. PP will show the progress bar of the files loading. Now this is where the 1st problem starts. When the media for the project has done loading, it WILL NOT start conforming the audio and generating the pek files for the currently open project. So I cannot open a project, let everything conform, then close the project, open another project,  let that conform, etc.

I have to close PP each time and relaunch it then open a project file for it to start conforming the audio / pek files.

The other issue I am having is on some project files that it has already generated the pek files for, when I reopen the project files it will start conforming the audio again although it has already done it and the conformed filed are still in the media cache folder, however when I look in the actual media cached folder it is not creating any additional files. Very bizarre.

      Any ideas?
