1. Re: Color space…creating a book in My publisher….when I look at the share book pre print the colors are all dulled out. I work in pro photo rgb in LR and PS ….My Pub is sRGB….where is the problem?
Test Screen Name Oct 26, 2014 10:18 AM (in response to phylbyrdt@aol.com)Can you explain exactly how you " look at the share book pre print"?
Also, why sRGB, it's not a very good RGB (though that doesn't explain your symptoms).

phylbyrdt@aol.com Oct 26, 2014 1:26 PM (in response to Test Screen Name)What I have to do is prep the book (I only do a few pages as a test). Then they let you share the book before purchase so I mail it to myself.
I shoot raw, work in Profoto RGB, then a MyPub tech told me their color space is sRGB so in PS, before saving I convert my color profile to sRGB.
An Adobe person at Photoshop world said he had a similar problem and told me to convert so the pics do not get dulled out.
I am doing some test pages with output color profile in Adobe RGB and in sRGB.
Any suggestions? I have set my LR color space to ProfotoRGB and my PS working space to Profoto RGB.

gener7 Oct 26, 2014 1:45 PM (in response to phylbyrdt@aol.com)If you go into Photoshop's preferences > Performance and click on Advanced in the GPU, see if reducing the setting to Basic helps. Try your color conversions again.

phylbyrdt@aol.com Oct 26, 2014 1:56 PM (in response to gener7)Will try that. Thanks. It will take a while as I prep the pages for my book. Will do it both ways and compare.

gener7 Oct 26, 2014 2:03 PM (in response to phylbyrdt@aol.com)I don't have the reference handy but at normal or higher PS will cause the GPU to remap the colors improperly.

phylbyrdt@aol.com Oct 26, 2014 2:39 PM (in response to gener7)I just looked at that setting and it was on BASIC. That must be the default because I never touched that setting before. Do you suggest I change to normal?

gener7 Oct 26, 2014 4:13 PM (in response to phylbyrdt@aol.com)I finally got to my references. This had to do with "soft proofing" on screen in Photoshop.
So this may not help you at all. Re: Strange sRGB soft-proofing behavior So go ahead and leave that setting at Basic.
However there is a Color Management forum that you also go to and see if anyone has answers for your particular problem.
Here is the link: Color management
I hope they can help you out.
