NavyCS Oct 26, 2014 7:33 AM (in response to RR456)Completing any basic task now takes much longer to complete. I have ten simple HTML pages open, and completing a simple "find and replace" for just a single link almost gives you enough time to refill your coffee -- prior to this change, this task would take maybe 3 seconds..
Running Windows 8.1, 12G ram, i7 processor.

NavyCS Oct 26, 2014 7:46 AM (in response to BetoNagy)Unchecking, "Highlight Changes in Live Code" seems to fix the issue.

4. Re: Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 is slow.
concinnate Oct 26, 2014 11:39 AM (in response to BetoNagy)The problem I get is that Dreamweaver now takes several minutes -- as in "minutes" -- to load. This started with the .1 "upgrade" to Dw2014. No such thing happened with the .1 rev to Flash... it still loads in a few seconds. By the way, both of these are installed on an SSD... they ought to fly.

NavyCS Oct 26, 2014 11:47 AM (in response to concinnate)Try also changing from the default "Live" view to the "Design" view. That helps a ton.

RR456 Oct 26, 2014 2:25 PM (in response to concinnate)Do you have a Google Analytics Tracking Code in your HTML documents that take several minutes to load?
Usually the script is put in the <head>, but I've found if it is anywhere in the file DW CC 2014.1 most often loads slow.
The script is like the one below:
<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');ga('create', 'UA-73425000-1', 'auto');
ga('send', 'pageview');</script>

7. Re: Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 is slow.
NavyCS Oct 26, 2014 2:35 PM (in response to RR456)I do have the Google Analytics code, but when I went from live to design view, things went back to the normal speed I was used to before the upgrade.
I had to open a single page, the created a new workspace, with that page open I hit the settings I wanted and then saved my new workspace (my preferred design view-- "design view on left" , and switched it from "Live" to "Design" view -- the thrid of three buttons in the upper left; "Code", "Split", and "Live" -- live to design)

8. Re: Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 is slow.
RR456 Oct 26, 2014 2:52 PM (in response to NavyCS)The reason I'm asking anyone with slow-load problems that did the upgrade to 2014.1 and has GA Tracking Code is because that is when I started having major slow-load problems.
Some think 3rd party script like GA Tracking Code has always created slow-load problems but my problem only started with 2014.1
I'm unclear when you discuss Design View since 2014.1, in Fluid Grid, does not have Design View available.
I'm simply trying to ascertain if the new browser engine in 2014.1 is causing the slow-load when a GA Tracking Code is in the document.

9. Re: Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 is slow.
concinnate Oct 26, 2014 8:37 PM (in response to RR456)There is no Google analytics code. There is no document. There is no Live view. I'm talking about Dreamweaver taking minutes to load. That would be about 40 seconds of the splash screen, followed by about 2.5 minutes of a window frame with a gray background.

12. Re: Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 is slow.
APanel Oct 31, 2014 8:28 AM (in response to Preran)I have been experiencing overall sluggish performance since upgrading to 2014.1 (6947 build) as well. This is on my Win 7/64 desktop and more noticeably on my Macbook Pro (2010/ 8GB) Mavericks 10.9.5.
In particular, switching between local sites within the 'Files' window will quickly indicate the newly selected site, but the old files remain visible for quite a while with the 'beach ball' spinning for up to a couple of minutes. Sometimes it will even quit. This is the most obvious example with other, more subtle sluggish events.
I have restored preferences as recommended and even uninstalled/reinstalled DW. I only use Live Preview for actual previewing not while working on a page.
As I did not really notice these issues in v. cc 2014, I have considered rolling back to it but I would rather take advantage of the new features in 2014.1
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
