csuebele Oct 27, 2014 12:00 PM (in response to barpos)That's odd, as all you thumbnails show no image in them also. Did you try selecting one of the layers the pressing cmd/ctrl-T then cmd/ctrl-0? This will create a transform box around the layer and zoom the onscreen display to show that transform box. This is helpful is a layer is placed outside the canvas area.

barpos Oct 27, 2014 4:35 PM (in response to csuebele)Not sure what you mean by transform box. All it did was to bring the canvas and its content much smaller.

6. Re: Unable to duplicate layers onto another .PSD document
barpos Oct 27, 2014 5:24 PM (in response to csuebele)Okay, I was able to find the culprit. Sometimes the layers get displayed from top to bottom on the destination, at other times, it gets positioned at the same place as the source file. Solution? I enlarged the destination canvas quite a bit (5 fold) and did the duplication. The layers got displayed near the bottom of the canvas. All I had to do was to trim the canvas thereafter.

7. Re: Unable to duplicate layers onto another .PSD document
csuebele Oct 27, 2014 6:41 PM (in response to barpos)Glad you found a solution. Here's what I meant by a transform bounding box. I pressed ctrl-T to bring up the transform bounding box. It will show areas of the layer that are not in the canvas. It's helpful to locate things that are hidden, and you don't know where. By pressing ctrl-0 the display will be sized to show the bounding box. I use this a lot when I write scripts and something goes wrong with my calculations and the layer gets sized or moved to where I can't see it.
