flash won't install on Mac 10.10

My mac is OS X yosemite version 10.10 and saying flash was out of date so I followed instructions to update didn't work tried all the trouble shooting (including uninstalling flash and try reinstalling it) didn't work. It goes there the whole download process then toward the end it starts installing then says general installation error.

Like I said I already tried all the trouble shooting nothing worked, but I tried again and nothing just like the last 20 times I've done it. just says installation failed

I'm also seeing install failure on 10.10. fails at the 75% mark on the progress bar… MBP 2011, newest OS / safari / ect.

I, too, have experience this problem. Have also tried all the fixes mentioned (see codyrjohnson's answer).

Dear Maria,

as far as I can see the topic has not yet been solved by Adobe.

Since more than one months many people cannot see flash content due to this problem.

Do you have information about a plan when Adobe will solve it?

I had this problem and tried all the suggested clean installs. But then the light came on and I realized that I never run my computer at the admin or root level. Flash is not loaded in the browser for the current user. You need to be signed into an Admin account to load flash. I wish Flash would give a useful message when it fails. All it would do is get to about 90% and then fail. I hope this helps. I am running Safari on a Mac with system 10.10.1

I am quite happy I am not the only one having a problem with this... I have exactly the same problem, tried all alternatives, cleaned all directories, uninstall the previous versions etc. Infact I can't use flash anymore at the moment, there is no poss to even instal the previous version.

Having the same problem. I've read about different fixes but couldn't figure them out; I'm not a pro at Terminal. Tried downloading the installer suggested in a previous reply to this and still got the installation error. Adobe, help!

Has there been any resolution with this issue? I am experiencing the same problem. Mac OS 10.10.1, I keep getting notices that my flash player is out of date. When I go through the installation process it gets to ~40% of the download then won't progress any farther.

Please don't post the same thing to multiple threads. Posting to multiple threads won't help you get your issue resolved sooner. You have a thread at Im unable to install flash player? that has been locked because it's a duplicate of I am unable to install Adoble flash? which is were people are helping you at. I am having the same issue. It is ridiculous. It has proved impossible to install Flash on my MacBook Air running Yosemite 10.10.2, and this after multiple tried, uninstalls--all the trouble shooting suggestions. Is anything being done?
