Remove song from mp4 video created in Premier Elements

Around a year ago I created a movie form clips with background music added. How can I remove the music and add new music or do I have to recreat the video form the original clips?

Do you have access to the original project (.prel) file?

Do you want to remove all of the sound -- or is the music mixed in with sound that you want to keep?

Thanks. I had filed the original prel file under another name but have now recovered it.

If you've got the original .prel file and the media you used to create it, it's as simple as opening that .prel file and replacing the soundtrack.
