JamesBlunt12 Oct 30, 2014 10:17 AM (in response to Peru Bob)Thanks Bob. My main question I'm trying to figure out is which drive should I setup to be my cache drive and my footage drive? Put "cache on HDD and footage on SSD" or "cache on SSD and footage on HDD"

R Neil Haugen Oct 30, 2014 11:01 AM (in response to JamesBlunt12)The cache files and cache database are the files PrPro uses whilst "thinking" or that process of taking your footage and computing whart effect your cuts and effects will make so it shows them as a single bit of "real" video in the playback monitor. They can be pretty extensive and clearly it needs rapid access to that info. Put both on your cache SSD.
Use the internal standard disc for your footage and the external for exports.
As to project files, I've heard some comments about putting them on the system disc in your setup as it's and SSD ... but also comments not to clog it up with that, put them on the internal drive with footage. Don't know how much difference it would make for you. Didn't for me so input them on the footage drive.
