1. Re: Kuler results don't match Photoshop and Illustrator results
sbgraphic Aug 27, 2013 9:01 AM (in response to Sjaani)Hi,
Yes I do agree I never understood why...
This a shame otherwise this would be great tool to share colours with clients.
Even if I use a correct color profile to preview, color value never matches on screen too (even with LAB values )
So I guess this tool it's more like giving a color intention ?
Does someone have as response ?

2. Re: Kuler results don't match Photoshop and Illustrator results
bryceshivers Nov 3, 2014 2:35 PM (in response to sbgraphic)I've been updating a pre-existing Brand Kit for a company, and noticed that their web team used Kuler to establish all variants of color (Hex, RGB and CMYK). When I was tasked to collect everything into a Brand Guidelines deck, I noticed the discrepancy between Kuler and Illustrator, but for only the CMYK values.
So I went looking for an answer. Most of what I've found online, is that a) Color Spaces play a part in which CMYK values are being offered and b) Kuler isn't 100% accurate in determining CMYK. That said, as I've done for years, I've leaned on the software itself (Photoshop or Illustrator) to provide the right values.
This post helped reaffirm my instinct:

shamit_mehta Nov 3, 2014 8:44 PM (in response to bryceshivers)If you use the color themes panel from within InDesign and Photoshop you would find the CMYK values reported in the panel (Create Tab) to match that from the product.

Sjaani Nov 3, 2014 8:55 PM (in response to shamit_mehta)Thanks shamit_mehta at least that's a start Still no improvement between the web version of Kuler/Color and the software then?
