Flash player not updating

Hi, I can't get the Adobe Flash Player Installer to download from the mounted drive after downloading. It says "lost connection. Trying to reconnect" and then just times out (see attached screenshots). I've tried numerous times and always the same result.

I'm trying to update it for Safari, as I can't play any flash based video anymore. Here are my specs:

- Macbook Air OS10.9.2

- Safari 7.0.2 (9537.74.9)

Any help?

Do a clean install
