Thanks,

R Neil Haugen Nov 6, 2014 2:17 PM (in response to eadjei053)Is that reading from say a flash card, out of the camera, or an internal drive?
You would need to have this loaded on either an internal drive or a Thunderbolt or eSATA external ... and with this type of codec, have copied the ENTIRE directory structure with your footage in it ... not just the "footage" ... hope this gets you going.

6. Re: my premiere pro does not support mxf file format what do i do please help me
R Neil Haugen Nov 6, 2014 2:38 PM (in response to eadjei053)PrPro reads these files just fine ... IF and ONLY IF they are copied to the computer properly. Nearly always, when this message happens, it's a matter of not having copied the entire folder structure from the camera AS IS ON THE CAMERA. MXF is technically a "wrapper" of internally contained bits ... most often separate files for video & audio with another set of files that "explain" to the computer which goes with what when where how. If any of that is not where the computer expects to find it, you'll get this sort of error message.
And PrPro has handled this wrapper since version 3 something. You need to copy the folder ABOVE the separate folders that have the various bits & pieces.

CoralVision Nov 7, 2014 8:24 AM (in response to eadjei053)Hi eadjei053,
What they are saying is first make sure you've copied the entire file structure from your camera/card intact to the location you will use for "scratch" for the project.
Then it is also IMPORTANT to import mxf media through the MEDIA BROWSER rather than file>import or right-clicking in the bin and choosing import. I've been using MXF in PrPro for 3 years and I have only been able to properly import media using the Media Browser. (If you don't see it on a tab behind your project bin, then open it using the "window" menu (window>media browser).
Good Luck!

Ann Bens Nov 7, 2014 9:39 AM (in response to eadjei053)Make a folder on the hard drive and call it e.g. Card 1.
Then copy the entire content from the flashcard into the Card 1 folder.
Then go to the Media Browser and double click on the Card 1 folder.
All clips should now open.
