1. Re: Just wondering if anyone knows why these lines are showing when I print?
rbpetex Nov 6, 2014 8:52 AM (in response to clctopoftheline)It appears as though the lines are in the original photo. If so, one way to remove them is with the clone stamp. It's kind of tedious, but it's the most effective way I know of to remove the lines. Maybe someone else knows of a faster way that is also effective. To use the clone stamp in PSE Editor, click on it and adjust the little circle to a size that will cover the line. Then move the circle into an adjacent area, press the alt key and click on the area. Then move the little circle over the line and click again. This covers the line with the area you chose. You have to mess with it a fair amount to get it right, but it does work.

clctopoftheline Nov 6, 2014 8:59 AM (in response to rbpetex)Hi,
Thank-you for your reply. I will try and figure out the clone stamp. I have scanned in about 20 pieces and none of them have a line around the original image, I am able to resize and it looks great and then when I print the image there is always a line on the the outside of the image, either in the top corner and side (never around the whole image). I have no idea why it is showing up but I will definitely try the clone stamp.
Thanks again!

3. Re: Just wondering if anyone knows why these lines are showing when I print?
hatstead Nov 6, 2014 9:19 AM (in response to clctopoftheline)Well, if it is not on the image (i.e. the file), then use of the clone stamp tool eludes me.
Is the picture cropped/resized to the size of the paper stock prior to sending it to the printer?
What happens when you print from another application?
In the print dialog, is "crop to fit" checked. If it is, what happens if you uncheck it?

rbpetex Nov 6, 2014 10:54 AM (in response to hatstead)If the lines are not on the original image, then the clone stamp won't work. Hatstead's suggestions are worth considering.

5. Re: Just wondering if anyone knows why these lines are showing when I print?
clctopoftheline Nov 6, 2014 11:47 AM (in response to hatstead)Hi,
I just tried printing from another application and it does not print any lines when I do that. I am just unable to get it sized correctly when I print from that application. I also figured out that I can see the lines when I change the image size and then add a border with the canvas size, they then appear before print preview. If I add a mat and place the sized photo into it, I cannot see them until I go view the print preview. The lines are always printed when I print through Elements 10. I tried unchecking the crop to fit and the lines were still there. The paper has also been cropped and sized to the paper stock I am using. I am not sure what else to try.... Thank-you for the suggestions, at least now I can eliminate the printer being the problem.
Thanks again.

Use the crop tool. If the paper stock is 5x7, then crop the file to 5x7.

I do not comprehend this.
Additional suggestions:
Be sure that you have the latest drivers for the printer. Check on the Epson web site
Clean the printhead and align the cartridges under maintainance
Make sure the size of paper loaded matches the paper size selected in PSE

7. Re: Just wondering if anyone knows why these lines are showing when I print?
clctopoftheline Nov 6, 2014 1:50 PM (in response to hatstead)Hi,
I need to resize my art so that the actual art is 7.5 x 9.5 so that I can have a .25 inch border around the print (the final print needs to be (8 x 10). When I do this in Elements and save it, the marks appear. When I use the other application, I cannot resize it (the original image is not a standard size). I also can't add the white border when I print on the other application.

8. Re: Just wondering if anyone knows why these lines are showing when I print?
hatstead Nov 6, 2014 1:59 PM (in response to clctopoftheline)In PSEv.8, go to File>Print. In the print dialog, #5 - print size- drop-down has option for "custom size."
Also, note that you can add a white border via Edit menu>Stroke(outline) selection. Place the stroke inside.
