SteveG(AudioMasters) Nov 6, 2014 1:42 AM (in response to georginasmith)Sorry, nowhere near enough information here. We'd either need to see an example of a file that doesn't open, or at the very least, a lot more information about it.

3. Re: Can't play audio
georginasmith Nov 6, 2014 5:28 PM (in response to georginasmith)The file is 1411 kbs, 12.7MB, and plays fine in media playback. But when I put it in adobe, it looks blank, and I can't play it back. When I amplify the file it says "The selected file has no output channels available," and asks if I want to check hardware, then I say yes and it says: The device settings could not be applied for the following reason: MME device internal error. The last valid settings will be used. Then it says: "The last device settings could not be used. Please check your hardware."

Can you tell me what type of file this is? As in MP3, Wav, etc. Any file that opens and looks blank is a bit suspect...

This sounds as though you have a fundamental problem with your computer's hardware, or at least the driver for it. One question though - does Audition play any files correctly?

georginasmith Nov 7, 2014 4:04 AM (in response to georginasmith)Hi Steve,
Thanks very much for answering - I've had an Adobe person look at it and it's fixed - the problem was a hardware malfunction with the drivers, you were right! Thanks again.
