Captivate 8 - How do I move the Timeline from the bottom to the top of the screen? The user guide says we can do this but doesn't explain how. Previous versions of Captivate had an area on the Timeline that we used to drag it. Don't see that in Captivate 8

You first have to click Edit > Preferences and then click General Settings.

Click to enable the option "Enable custom workspaces..." then restart Captivate.

Going to Expert mode (term used by the engineers) as Rick pointed out allows you to recreate workspaces, to make panels floating. However you'll not find the formerly existing workspaces,  you have to start from scratch. Moreover panels can no longer be minimized to an icon, only to the title bar. And the Toolbars at the top (Big Button Bar, Alignment toolbar) are fixed, no way to make them floating as was the case in previous versions.
