Neil Enns - Adobe Nov 6, 2014 1:31 PM (in response to designemily)I suspect the problem is your tablet rendition size. There's no reason to make a rendition that big. You should instead create 1024x768 as PDF and use that on all your tablet devices.
Having said that, the app still shouldn't crash. I've sent this over to David and I suspect he'll be in touch to ask for some additional information.

David Herrera Nov 6, 2014 1:40 PM (in response to designemily)That tablet size shouldn't be an issue. Can you go to the Google Play store, look for the Crashes/ANRs tab, and see if you can locate this crash? If so, please copy the stack trace and send to me. We'll see if we can get a repro separately.
Thanks,
Dave

Neil Enns - Adobe Nov 6, 2014 1:43 PM (in response to David Herrera)Even if it doesn't turn out to be the size of the folio, there is no reason to publish 2048x1536. You're just making the folio size bigger than necessary to render nicely. Stick to 1024x768 in PDF format!

4. Re: App crashing on Nexus 5
designemily Nov 6, 2014 2:12 PM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Originally I started creating 2048x1536 renditions for Retina display iPads. For Androids this is the easiest rendition I have found to create to work with the Nexus 10. The 1024x768 rendition on a Nexus 10 is very small, letter and pillar boxed, and hard to read.

David,
I sent you a private message with the stack trace.

Bob Levine Nov 6, 2014 2:59 PM (in response to designemily)It should scale up on that device pretty nicely as long as it’s PDF.

6. Re: App crashing on Nexus 5
Neil Enns - Adobe Nov 6, 2014 3:15 PM (in response to designemily)We always scale up to fill the screen, you should never see a 1024x768 rendition showing very small and letterboxed. Are you sure you are using the native Android viewer built from http://appbuilder.digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/?

David Herrera Nov 6, 2014 4:10 PM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Hi Emily,
I got the stack trace, and that looks to be a crash in the adobe reader library. We made PDF improvements in 32.1, where you'll see much better PDF performance and stability. I don't think you'd see that crash in the latest version, but let me know if you find out otherwise.
Regarding scaling, I tried some 1024x768 folios on a Nexus 10 build with app builder and it scaled properly. If you have more details to share, or want to send me a copy of the app, we can investigate more.

designemily Nov 7, 2014 10:50 AM (in response to David Herrera)Dave,
Do I need to update my app to get the latest PDF improvements or are they automatic?
I haven't tried the 1024x768 folio on the native, only the legacy. I will get my hands on a Nexus 10 and try it with the newer Android viewer.
Thanks,
Emily

9. Re: App crashing on Nexus 5
David Herrera Nov 7, 2014 11:32 AM (in response to designemily)Hi,
Yes, the legacy viewer is very old and no longer supported. Please rebuild with the native Android viewer using the link Neil provided above.
Regards,
Dave

designemily Nov 7, 2014 11:56 AM (in response to David Herrera)Dave,
My app was rebuilt with the v32 update in the native Android web builder on September 18th. Do I need to update again to stop the crashing?
I just haven't tested the 1024 on the Nexus 10 since native launched.
