1. Re: Why do GPS coordinates show up in Bridge but not in Lightroom 5.6
John R. Ellis Nov 6, 2014 7:28 PM (in response to Dan Bryer)To troubleshoot this, I suggest you upload an offending pic to Dropbox (or similar service) and post the link here. One of us can then examine the file closely to see what might be going wrong and then suggest possible solutions or workarounds.

5. Re: Why do GPS coordinates show up in Bridge but not in Lightroom 5.6
John R. Ellis Nov 12, 2014 3:43 PM (in response to Dan Bryer)(Sorry for the delay in getting back.) When I import that pic into my LR 5.6 / OS X 10.9, the GPS coordinates display in the Metadata pane (see below). Both Photoshop CC 2014 and Exiftool also see the GPS metadata (as well as lots of other metadata), and Exiftool doesn't complain about any inconsistencies or other metadata issues.
So this suggests there's something going on with your configuration. Which version of LR and Windows/Mac?
Copy a problem NEF into a test folder by itself, without any accompanying .xmp or .jpg sidecars. Create a new catalog and import the NEF. Does the GPS location show up in the Metadata pane?

Dan Bryer Nov 12, 2014 4:38 PM (in response to John R. Ellis)Hi,
I did as you suggested and created a new catalogue and loaded the same image that I had sent to you previously. The GPS coordinates display as expected displaying the correct coordinates.
I am using- a Mac Pro - Mavericks 10.9.5 - Camera raw 8.6-Photoshop CC 14.2.1 x64
What do you suggest I do next?
Thanks

8. Re: Why do GPS coordinates show up in Bridge but not in Lightroom 5.6
Dan Bryer Nov 12, 2014 4:43 PM (in response to John R. Ellis)Yes I do have a metadata preset which includes all GPS and EXIF data. I typically load the raw images into the folder I wish to use and then add them to the Catalogue by clicking on "Add Folder".
