1. Re: audition crashes
SteveG(AudioMasters) Oct 20, 2014 1:56 AM (in response to jwarren891)All versions of Audition are tested very thoroughly before release - they always have been. Yes, things get through occasionally, but it's incredibly rare for anything major to get out (with the dishonourable exception of Audition 2, and we're not talking about that...). When it does, the chances are that an update in an OS or a driver makes it either unstable or, in extreme cases, unusable.
Our problem here is at least twofold: Firstly, the vast majority of users haven't reported this as a problem. If they had, action would have been taken almost immediately. I'm afraid that this is pointing to the culprit being in your machine. Secondly, we can't even begin to find out what's happened, as you haven't told us even the basic information - is this with Windows or Mac?
There is something you can do though, and that's to send the crash log to the developers, who will look at it and report back to you. Information about how you do that is here: Audition Crashed. Now what?

2. Re: audition crashes
jwarren891 Oct 20, 2014 6:16 PM (in response to SteveG(AudioMasters))I filled out a bug report and have had several emails back & forth with Support. The rock solid failure I saw (there were some others) involved scrolling the waveform display. Audition would always crash as soon as it was time to begin horizontally scrolling the display. Support said they were suspicious of an interaction with the Nvidia driver and, indeed, I have an Nvidia display adapter (and the latest driver). I installed 7.01 twice with the same result both times. Today, I did it again, but this time, I elected NOT to import settings from the previous version. Now it works! Another failure that's now vanished was that the dropdown list of effects in the Effects panel was empty. Now it shows what I expect. I then went ahead and set all the preferences the way I want and scanned for plugins - I have about a dozen. All's well for now.

jwarren891 Oct 26, 2014 3:14 PM (in response to jwarren891)I spoke too soon. It was ok for a while but now it's crashing again, sometimes while merely playing a file - no scrolling going on.

TROID Oct 26, 2014 5:27 PM (in response to jwarren891)Also, two hard crashes too. Complete freeze and hard reset. Audio recovered but show only time of recording and nothing in waveform.
Lost two full lectures this weekend and parts and pieces of others. Audition was not ready for:
Mac OSX Yosemite
Macbook Pro Retina 2012

Actually, from what we are hearing from several other sources, this may be the wrong way around. It's Yosemite that's not ready for release, not Audition.

6. Re: audition crashes
jwarren891 Nov 9, 2014 5:46 PM (in response to jwarren891)I'm still waiting for a fix. I'm paying a subscription fee. Where's customer service? I understand that others are seeing this with cc 2014. What's the state of this? I filed a formal report, got some feedback weeks ago and have never heard another peep. The latest version, just installed, still crashes. I don't know if it's the same as the cc 2014 I installed before.
The Windows application error log reports that it's crashing in MSVCF110.dll, version 11.0.51106.1.

ryclark Nov 10, 2014 4:01 AM (in response to jwarren891)Don't know if it is applicable in your case but there have been some bugs discovered causing crashes with Windows scaling being set at other than 100%.
Issue with Audition CC build 7.1.0.119 crashing on moving the play head back
