opening the files and what exactly are they seeing.

elb7 Nov 10, 2014 9:10 AM (in response to elb7)The red and white PDF icon on the the front of the file name turns white and empty after the file is sent.
When they click on it it asks what program would you like to open it in. it has never done this before.
But one of my colleagues receives pdfs from another member on the team that do this, and it drives him nuts because it takes a couple extra steps to open the file. And for me, the recipients are just confused.

Gilad D (try67) Nov 10, 2014 9:47 AM (in response to elb7)It sounds like the email server, email client or browser are messing up the
file's extension.

Bill@VT Nov 10, 2014 10:50 AM (in response to elb7)Outlook used to be a problem and I thought had been fixed. The basic need is to be sure that your e-mail client is properly MIME encoded (or other, but MIME is the typical encoding) for transmission. You could also zip the PDF and send the zip file. Many e-mail packages have in the past seen a PDF file as an ASCII file and not encoded it, sending it in 7-bit ASCII format rather than binary.
