What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Is this an Elements Organizer that comes with Premiere Elements question or a question relating to the Premiere Elements Editor?

Thanks for the reply.
While I was waiting for your reply I tried mapping the My Documents Folder to a Z drive. It did not seem to affect my Premiere Elements
performance.
Could you give more details on what you have done. Have you mapped the whole Documents Folder or its components individually, like
Music, Pictures, Videos?
Have far into Premiere Elements 11 do you get when you say it will not run - not beyond the Welcome Screen, files will not import in the
Edit area, etc?

jstauffereacs Nov 6, 2014 11:31 AM (in response to A.T. Romano)The Whole my documents folder is mapped to H:\. Aso soon as you click video editor it crashes. If I unmap the My Documents folder it runs perfectly.

Today I did several mapping and disconnects of My Document Folder to Z: drive. During the mapped to Z times, there were no problems with Premiere Elements 11 on this Windows 7 64 bit computer.
Not sure it would make a difference, but have you tried another drive letter? Are all the shared permissions in order?
Please re-confirm when you are getting these Premiere Elements 11 crashes
a. The mapped drive exists but you are not using it. All you do is try to open Premiere Elements 11 Editor?
b. You open Premiere Elements 11 Editor and try to import some media from the mapped to H My Documents Folder?

Thanks for the update. Sorry that the news was not better.
Still thinking about this.
When you installed Premiere Elements 11, did you install it to the default location on the Local Disk C?
Have you consistently seen - mapped My Document Folder - Premiere Elements 11 crash trying to open it versus no mapping of My Document Folder - Premiere Elements 11 opens OK/no crashes. Any deviations in that?

Thanks for the reply.
Later this evening I will write up exactly what I did to map My Documents.
I am doing this on Window 7 Professional SP1 64 bit computer which has Premiere Elements 11
installed.
I suspect there is only one way to map My Documents, but please review what I did in order to determine
if I am doing anything differently than you in this task.
To be continued.....
