1. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
Kevin Monahan Nov 8, 2014 9:54 AM (in response to ProWro)Hi ProWro,
Do a clean reinstallation of your GPU drivers and see if that helps.
Thanks,
Kevin -
2. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
ProWro Nov 8, 2014 11:44 AM (in response to Kevin Monahan)I just tried what you suggested. Clean installation of drivers and reinstallation of CC 2014.1 produced no better result. Still flickery and the audio is digital noise. Here's a brief clip (turn your audio down) rendered from Sony Vegas from the resulting file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6626108/flicker-issue.mp4
I am basically completely stalled from finishing this project until this gets resolved.

3. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
Kevin Monahan Nov 8, 2014 11:46 AM (in response to ProWro)Hi ProWro,
Set AME to Software Only, as well.
Thanks,
Kevin -
4. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
ProWro Nov 8, 2014 11:52 AM (in response to Kevin Monahan)When I use AME, I get the same result. Software encoder, CUDA encoder, Premiere, Media Encoder. Every combination produces the same result.

5. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
Kevin Monahan Nov 8, 2014 11:55 AM (in response to ProWro)Hi ProWro,
I have no further advice at this time. Sorry. What you may want to do is contact support to see if they can help. We are not available over the weekend, however. You'll have to wait until Monday when they arrive to work, though: Contact Customer Care at 7AM PST.
Be sure to ask for the "video queue" once you're connected.
Thanks,

Warp Stabilizer Flashing Nov 8, 2014 1:00 PM (in response to ProWro)I'm having the same problem with my Premiere Pro flashing when I export videos with Warp Stabilizer. Need some help please.
Thanks.

7. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 8, 2014 7:10 PM (in response to ProWro)Ugh I am having the exact same problem and it's definitely something to do with warp stabilizer. I'm tearing my hair out as my project is due next week and every time I render I end up with flicker. I have a 7 minute project with maybe 30 out of 100+ clips having warp stabilizer applied. What's really strange is I can't completely replicate the issue. Sometimes I'll render and only a couple of the clips will flicker. Then I will render again with the exact same settings and almost all of them will flicker. All of my preview files in the timeline play smooth and show no flickering at all. Come on Adobe this is clearly a problem and is holding up people from work.

8. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 9, 2014 3:11 PM (in response to ProWro)A little update from all my troubleshooting. I think I have found a work around although it might be a bit time consuming and def annoying. I take my clip that's having a problem and clear it of all effects. Then send it to AE and only put warp stabilizer on it. Back in PP add all the other effects you originally had on it. In my case it wast mostly Magic Bullet Looks and some RGB curves/Fast color corrector. So far this has cleared up the flickering. There is def something broken with the WS in PP. I'm also now starting to experience some flickering on other clips with Twixtor where as before the 2014 upgrade I wasn't. More problems to solve! Come on Adobe it's time to push out some major bug fixes. Well let me know if the AE trick works for anyone or if they have any other solutions. Thanks!!!

9. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
kurtvandeweerdt Nov 11, 2014 10:58 AM (in response to ProWro)Same problem over here! It started with only nested sequences which had WS on it. So I stopped nesting sequences and thought I had it fixed... Until just now... Regular clip, flickering! Please, Adobe, get this fixed. Thanks!

10. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 11, 2014 11:27 AM (in response to kurtvandeweerdt)Just curious do you have any WS clips that are flickering that don't have any other effects on it? Also have you tried my AE workaround?
-
11. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
kurtvandeweerdt Nov 11, 2014 1:12 PM (in response to wraptors)Not tried the AE workaround yet. Yeah, even clips with only WS do flicker... Guess what, I just had a video exported with an adjustment layer above all channels and it's flickering all the time... So not only with WS in my case. Adobe???

15. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
GGuzman Nov 11, 2014 1:52 PM (in response to Kevin Monahan)I had this issue, but my fix was in the render by selecting the Mercury Playback Engine SW Only in lieu of the other choice.

Kevin Monahan Nov 11, 2014 1:54 PM (in response to GGuzman)Hi G Guzman,
What kind of computer? Which GPU do you have?
Thanks,

17. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
kurtvandeweerdt Nov 11, 2014 1:57 PM (in response to Kevin Monahan)Thanks Kevin,
I run Premiere Pro CC 2014 8.1.0 (81) build on Mac OSX 10.10. Just re-installed, problems still there.
H.264 footage in .mov
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, eind 2013)
2,6 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
I get flickering when exporting the following items are in my sequence included: warp stabilizer, nested sequences or an adjustment layer. I already see this flickering in the small preview of the Media Encoder
I have some third-party plugins, but not used in this project. Is it still needed to sum these up?
Is there anything else you need?

18. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 11, 2014 2:24 PM (in response to Kevin Monahan)Hey Kevin here is my info. Let me know if I can further assist.
PP 8.1.0 (81) Build
Windows 8.1 with all the latest updates
Source footage is Canon 5D MkIII 1080p30 all-I & Gopro Hero 3+ Black 1080p60 protune
I do get an "unspecified drawing error" sometimes when applying Warp Stabilizer but not all the time
WS worked fine until I updated from CC to 2014
I'm not running any other software besides the rest of the Adobe suite. I sometimes have Chrome open while editing.
I use Red Giant Magic Bullet looks quite a lot. I also use Neat Video noise reduction, Boris Continuum, and Twixtor.
System Specs:
Core i7-4770K, Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H-CF, 32GB RAM (Crucial BLS8G3D1509DS1S100 DDR3-1600), MSI GTX 970 Gaming, Samsung 256GB 840 Pro SSD (system), WD 3TB 7200 (Media), Seagate 2TB 5900 (Exports/Cache/Previews). The current project I am editing off of a 2TB WD Passport drive via USB3.
I'm using MPE GPU acceleration. When I use software only I actually get a lot more render errors and the flicker worsens.
Previews look perfect only on final output do I see the problem. I have tried rendering with the "use previews" box checked thinking that would help but it makes no difference.
Hope we can get this solved!
Edit:
I also get an "unknown exception on frame 0 in Warp Stabilizer" error sometimes when applying WS.

19. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 11, 2014 2:25 PM (in response to GGuzman)GGuzman Were you having a flicker that was black or flicker that looks more like there is a bright light being added on and off? I have seen others post with a black flickering and changing to software only helped but not with this bright light flickering.

20. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
GGuzman Nov 11, 2014 2:17 PM (in response to Kevin Monahan)Hey Kevin,

Kevin Monahan Nov 11, 2014 2:34 PM (in response to kurtvandeweerdt)Hi Kurt,
Thanks for the info. If you have time, please fill out a bug report as we need more customers reporting on this specific behavior: http://adobe.ly/ReportBug
We have a related bug filed, but yours is a slightly different one from the one we already are working on a fix for. Hopefully, we can get everyone one on this thread to file a bug report.Best,
Kevin

Kevin Monahan Nov 11, 2014 2:46 PM (in response to GGuzman)Thanks G Guzman,
Looks like all on this thread are using NVIDIA GPUs. That may be a clue as to what's going on there.

23. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
ProWro Nov 11, 2014 3:03 PM (in response to Kevin Monahan)How much does the GPU play into the software renderer, though? I never got different results one way or the other.
Also, I was able to export my video without flicker (mostly, took a couple of renders on one timeline) by removing an adjustment layer that had the "Levels" effect on it (no, not "Auto Levels"). Still, only the Warp Stabilizer clips flickered, but they seemed to be compounded by that adjustment layer.

24. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
GGuzman Nov 11, 2014 3:51 PM (in response to wraptors)The former…..not the latter. The strobing (flickering) went dark - not light. I initially wondered if I had the problem b/c of dissimilar frame rates. One was 30 and one was 29.97. Once I made them all 29.97 it still did the glitch until I modified the Render setting.
I have not done the Yosemite upgrade BTW if that factors……..

25. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 11, 2014 4:02 PM (in response to GGuzman)Yeah see we have different flicker problems I think. Mine and several others in this thread have a bright light kind of flickering.

27. Re: Warp Stabilizer flicker, software renderer does nothing
wraptors Nov 12, 2014 12:59 PM (in response to Kevin Monahan)Here is a couple clips that are flickering. They all have WS except for the shark shot which is Twixtor.
