CtDave Nov 11, 2014 6:03 PM (in response to danpbphoto)Actually, the message is not a "error" message. The output of all scanners is always an image, a picture of the imprint on the paper fed to the scanner.
Of course a picture, an image of text is not renderable text (e.g., glyphs displayed per the font encoding tables provided in the PDF).
So, no "editable text".
To edit the pixels that form the appearance (via the picture / image) of any character you'd use an image or photo editor.
Using Acrobat you can OCR the image of text provided by the scanner.
The OCR output can be exported to Word.
As the source is OCR of the image do expect to do cleanup of the Word file.

Test Screen Name Nov 13, 2014 2:45 AM (in response to danpbphoto)If it started happening, here is an idea. Maybe your scanning software has the option to do OCR (and make real text) and maybe someone messed with the settings, turning it off.
