PSE 12 keeps FREEZING when using Brushes

I am running PSE 12.1 and every time i try to use brushes on any command(delete or paint etc...). I have tried to delete files that others have suggested and I have also used the uninstall to remove preferences and still to no avail. I have a mac book pro running yosemite and I need help. No reason to purchase a program and it not work!

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT!!!!!

Same PSE 12/Yosemite freezing problem! Will paying for PSE 13 solve the Freezing Problem???

I downloaded PSE 13 trial and it worked perfectly. I don't think that we should have to pay for an upgrade when the lower version should work fine. I feel that either Adobe fix the issue or upgrade us for free! I will ask the question once I find who I should contact.

I have the same problem with PSE 12 after upgrading Macbook Pro to OS Yosomite. Tried looking for support from Adobe but unable to find email support address. Does anyone have their address?

I also just upgraded my MacBook Pro to the Yosemite and I cannot use any tools in Elements. It gets stuck on them and then won't do anything. Tried resetting the tools like suggested but no help! I'm assuming it's because of the upgrade but this needs to be fixed ASAP!!! If anyone has any answers please let me know also! Thanks so much!!!

Looking at other post some people said that Adobe has pretty much said too bad you need to buy PSE13, with that attitude I will find a different program!!

I have the same problem.
I tried this tips that I got, but it didn't help.

Delete:

com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

Adobe Photoshop Elements < version > Paths

Adobe Photoshop Elements < version > Settings

com.adobe.Elements Organizer. < version >.plist

com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer< version>.plist

and any lockfiles with the same names, then go to Saved Application States (at the same level as preferences) and delete any for PSE, then repair permissions and try again.

I hope someone will post back with a solution!

It's been suggested that this problem only happens when using trackpads. Are you all using trackpads? If so, do you have the same issues with a mouse?

Cheers thanks for the tip. I have a macbook Pro retina and also had the problem of PSE 12 freezing after downloading O S Yosomite. But tried using. a mouse rather than the trackpad as you suggested and it works great. I would rather use the trackpad but at least now I can use the PSE 12 software Thanks!

I've been going nuts, killing Photoshop Elements and restarting it, trying to get the brush to work. I truly appreciate this forum for letting me know I am not alone, and suggesting the mouse fix. I'll plug one in to my MacBook Pro and hope Adobe/Apple work together to get this fixed for us Elements 12 users. I am not yet ready to upgrade to 13 to remedy a bug that should have been fixed before the release of Yosemite.

Please, Adobe, you need to collaborate with Apple to fix this issue.

Adobe has a fix for this. You can download a plug-in that takes care of the problem. They are working with Apple to coordinate a permanent fix.

Another alternative is to use a mouse instead of the trackpad - the issue is with trackpad commands.

Hope this helps - you don't need to stick with Mavericks or buy PSE 13.
