Normally you don't have to have a "local host" configured. It should just preview from the local file system.
What have you seen that leads you to believe these extra steps are needed?

Thanks for the speedy reply, when I have a Responsive project and I go to Preview Project I get the error”Safari can’t open the page http://localhost:7803/HTML5Temp54301525750916Pre/rindex.html <http://localhost:7803/HTML5Temp54301525750916Pre/rindex.html> because Safari can’t connect to the server localhost.

Ahhh, sounds like it might be a Mac thing. I've never had this issue on PC.
Apologies. I'm Mac ignorant. You likely need someone with Mac on Captivate expertise.

Hi,
I was using a mac with Safari. My solution which worked for me was to uninstall Captivate 8 and then re-download the Captivate 8 trial again using Chrome this time instead of Safari. it worked upon an install of the new package.
