Flash player not installing - Receive a "Retreving Install" prompt and the screen goes blank in the box- the end??? nothing

Have the same problem, uninstalled the previous version and wanted to do a clean installation. Problem remains, two screenshots attached. Thanks.

Mac OS 10.10

Chrome version 38.0.2125.111

As I start my installation I see the following prompt for a few seconds

Then it stays at this for very long, I've also checked my network activity and nothing is incoming from the web.

yes, I got it from my apple supplier. Just reboot using those four keys

down during the reboot for 4 chimes and then release. Then did the install

and it worked, no more blank black screen after "retrieving install "

appears. GL Bob
