Dreamweaver October 2014 release is now live! Important information.
Preran Oct 7, 2014 11:03 AMHi all,
The latest update to the 2014 release of Dreamweaver is here! There are lots of new features to look forward to, and some features that were incorporated based on your feedback. However, please go through these notes before you proceed with updating your software.
I request that you do not use this post to provide feedback on features. Create separate posts for each of those discussions.
Installation:
You will see a lot of exciting changes in your CC desktop application. They are all pretty obvious and if you have any confusion, let us discuss them over a forum post.
- If you are not prompted for the latest update in your CC desktop application, log out of the application, and log into it.
- Trial version users, please note: If you have installed a trial version of DW, you will not see the Start Trial button like for other applications. Click DW CC 2014 to launch the application. For more information see, http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/start-trial-unavailable-dreamweaver.html
- Installation Instructions: See http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/installing-latest-update-dreamweaver-cc.html for information on installing the latest Dreamweaver update. To confirm if an update has been installed, select Help > Update. The version number should read 2014.1
- Dreamweaver goes 64 bit: If you are a Windows user, the Creative Cloud desktop application detects the OS on your computer and installs the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version accordingly. For Mac OS, only the 64 bit installer will be used. See the blog post for details
- Because this is a full blown installer, the download and install time could be slightly higher as compared to other software in the Creative Cloud.
- Manual install of previous extensions: While the Add Ons will be synced through CC, you will have to manually install any extensions installed through the latest extension manager. Please update to the latest version of the Extension manager (7.3) before you install your extensions. If you are in the middle of something that requires your extensions, you probably want to complete your project before you embark on updating your software.
- Launch and uninstall apps directly from the CC desktop application: See Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps
