Hi Chipsterva,Was Acrobat or Reader installed previously on this machine?
If yes then I would request you to run Acrobat Cleaner tool to clear any remains of previous installation.
Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
Restart the machine and try the installation again.
I would also request you to paste the screen shot of the error message.

Anand

Hi Chipsterva,Do you have any antivirus, firewall or security software running on the machine?
If yes then please disable it and then try the installation.
Try to create a new user account on this machine and install it.

4. Re: Trying to install Acrobat Pro X, error regarding IE7 requirement, client has IE10 installed
chipsterva Nov 18, 2014 12:58 PM (in response to ANAND8502)We do have AV software - I hadn't thought to disable that. I was already using a new user account - I created an admin account to do the installation.
Since time was of the essence (or so I was told), we went ahead and tried installing Acrobat Pro 11, which installed fine.
Thanks for the assist, Anand - crisis averted!
