    FTP error 501

Hi, we use FTP to upload our daily recordings to a server on campus running Filezilla and Adobe Streaming Server.

We installed a new editing machine with Premiere Pro and AME CC 2014. On our old machines we still have AME CC. When importing our old presets into AME CC 2014 all the FTP settings are gone. After re-entering them I cannot get a single file, not even the Test working. Filezilla (Server) has an IP allowed list. The current machine is entered into the allowed list.

When I inspect Filezilla"s log file after the failed connection, I see a "501 Syntax error". I checked the credentials. Using Cyberduck I can upload files from this (new) machine. What could be the reason, AME CC2014 cannot connect? Where should I look for a solution?

We found the cause and the solution: It has to do with the remote path.

In earlier versions, this field could be left empty. In the current 2014 version you have to insert at least a period (full stop). Otherwise AME will send an MKD command. This leads to an error when it does not have the appropriate rights on the server (as in our case). Appart from that, it does not seem to make any sense for AME to make a directory when it has not been asked to do so.

This seems to be a bug. Or is this behaviour deliberate?

          Regards,

          Andreas
