I can't PLACE multiple files in Ai?

    LFRANC Community Member

I used to be able to drag and drop multiple files from BRIDGE to Ai in CS5, now in CS6 I can't. When I select a bunch of images and drag over only 1 image drags over. If I use FILE > PLACE .... it only lets me chose 1 file. Any clues? Thank you

You have not provided any system information or details about your files, your document and whatnot, so we can't know what is going on.

            Hi, sorry...

            I am using a iMAC. and CS6

I am attempting to create a composite of photos (one of the class photo composites in school of all the kids and a teacher in a class) in Illustrator CS6. I am also using Adobe Bridge. When I was using CS5 I could drag my JPEGS from Bridge into my Ai Composite Template and then just drag them into place. Now when I select my JPEGS only one moves over when I drag them from BRIDGE to my Ai template. The same with the FILE > PLACE .... it will only let me select 1 file at a time.

If this is still not clear then I am not sure what to include.

            Thank you for responding

You can certainly drag and drop multiple files from the Finder but they will be one on top of the other so it’s often better to do things one at a time.

Bridge and Place don’t allow this. Bit silly really because it’s easy in InDesign.
