I need a style to adopt the color of an individual item without taking extra steps, Help?

I've transported an illustrator image into photoshop, separated each color and now need to apply a style to each colored item but need the style to adopt the color of each item

without having to take any extra steps... How do I do this?

For me the first thing you need to do is explain what you have done better and explain what you want to do better. A screen capture of you current progress would be helpful. You document open in Photoshop where we can see the image window and Layers palette so we have and idea of what your writing about.

You're not talking about just adding a new swatch with the new color in your swatch palette, are you?

So Here is what I have done to get the thread looking effect:

                1. imported image from Illustrator (Pirate Bay Bowling)

                2. Used magic wand to select the outer ring (blue border)

                3. In layer window option at the bottom > Fill/adjustment layer > Pattern > chose pattern and adjusted the scale to desired number.

                4. Set blending mode to multiply and adjusted the opacity to 35% in order for the pattern effect to resemble the original blue in the design

                5. repeated all above steps for all the other colors in the design (red and white)

What I need is to achieve the same results using "preset style" instead.

I have done this in the past with style - and all it took was one click (no need to set blending mode or opacity)

                The process:

                1. import image

                2. use magic wand to select a color from the design

                3. Copy + paste

                4. click on the desired "Preset Style"

                5. result: the style adopts the color from the designScreen Shot 2014-11-21 at 10.11.59 PM.png

I don't think I can help any. I don't have AI or use a Mac. From yor screen capture can not tell if you are mixing  AI palettes and an old of Photoshop palettes.  I see part of a tools palette look like it may be an old Photoshop version tool palette I have used.  The floating Styles palette looks like a Photoshop style palette and the Floading window with docked layer palette looks like an older Photoshop version layers palette. That shows only two text layers the rest of the layers like any fill layers are hidden from view. A floating  tabbed image window with three tabs with different document in each. The menu bar look like it may be a mac version of PS

You wrote this that I do not fully understanr

                  1. imported image from Illustrator (Pirate Bay Bowling)

Is imported image from Illustrator (Pirate Bay Bowling) some import Plug or just a document created with an undocumented process ?????

                  2. Used magic wand to select the outer ring (blue border)

                  3. In layer window option at the bottom > Fill/adjustment layer > Pattern > chose pattern and adjusted the scale to desired number.

Where these layer created during the import process????

                  4. Set blending mode to multiply and adjusted the opacity to 35% in order for the pattern effect to resemble the original blue in the design

                  5. repeated all above steps for all the other colors in the design (red and white)

Is this the same Import Process that may create fill adjustment layers?

                  2. use magic wand to select a color from the design

                  3. Copy + paste

                  4. click on the desired "Preset Style"

Do you have a set of defines preset with the pattern overlays you need to have

As I wrote I do not have AI in PS export I see an item Paths  to Illustrator in PS Import I see no option for Illustrator files or documents.  That is why I have questions about your import process..
