Is there a way to use the web app input form to submit my own Release Date instead of the system generated current date?

No, it needs to be in the system format so the system can process it. You can have a custom field (text) that can be input with your own date for date entry if you like.

I simply want to order my events in a date order that is based on a date field of MY choosing and not adobe's Release Date field.
