MichelBParis Nov 21, 2014 11:27 PM (in response to popa-fish)If you install the new Elements version on the same computer, the installation process will prompt you to convert your old catalog. If you have several catalogs, you can manually choose them and convert them from the catalog manager (File/catalogs...)
If you are moving to another computer, use the backup and restore process;

The restore process will recognize the need to convert and will do it automatically after all your pictures are restored on the location you have chosen.

3. Re: How do you transfer Albums & their contents from Elements 11 into a later edition Elements 13. Thanks
popa-fish Nov 22, 2014 3:23 PM (in response to MichelBParis)I do have both Elements 11 & 13 on the same computer, however when I received the download it did not prompt me to convert my old catalog.
However I am more concerned with how to transfer the "ALBUMS" with the Pictures contained within each Album.
Thank you
Gerry

4. Re: How do you transfer Albums & their contents from Elements 11 into a later edition Elements 13. Thanks
MichelBParis Nov 23, 2014 6:29 AM (in response to popa-fish)Albums are lists which are stored into catalogs. They don't contain the images, they just keep a pointer to where the pictures are stored in your computer and the order to display them.
So your problem is with catalogs, not with albums.
If you have missed the message to convert the old current catalog at installation time, that's not a problem. You can use the menu File in the organizer, select 'Manage catalogs' which will show a 'convert' button. That is also necessary if you have more than one catalog.
The catalog is not a single file, it's a folder containing the main database, catalog.pse13b as well as other files and subfolders. The location of your current catalog can be found with the menu Help/System Info of the organizer. If you want to use another catalog, the organizer will search for other catalogs and provide a list to choose from.

Thank you for the help, I am still a little confused, sorry about this. I have now managed to download the Pic's from Elements 11 Catalog into Elements 13 Catalog. My question is: my Pictures (6,500) in Elements 11 Albums (30) are in a very specific order, how can these be transferred from the catalog to each of the 30 Albums either from 11 or 13 without having to manually transfer them over.
Regards
Gerry
