Problems with Premiere Pro CC and Creative cloud desktop, the file will not open on the other Mac

    danachoi Community Member

      Hi,

Please help me solve this problem. It is finals week and this weekend I need to turn in my project. I am 90% finished but ever since Yosemite I might assume, premiere has been crashing and freezing and taking forever to render and then does not. I finally installed this creative cloud desktop and I have two computers one macbook which is where I run Premiere pro cc with the yosemite and my iMac is not affected yet. I have installed Premiere pro cc on it and so far have not had any crashes. I want to transfer the project but it says error -600 and says I cannot open it. I have transferred all the files in a folder which the movies and pictures I am using but I am unable to open the current version of my project. I have done the sync with creative cloud and I see the project but it does not open even though I have the same version. Please Please help me with this. I have spent close to 48 hours going over forums and trying everything.

OK, I see. You updated to Yosemite in the middle of your project and then things went wrong. Sorry that happened to you. In the future, do not update OS X until important projects are complete.

OK. When you say Premiere Pro CC, which version are you running precisely on each machine?

To find out: go to the Premiere Pro menu and choose > About Premiere Pro.

What does it say at the bottom of the screen? It should say something like, "8.1.0 Build."

OK. Can you give us the full text of the message or post a screen shot?

Did you copy the synched file to the iMac HD before trying to open it?

If you can't seem to open the project, you might try the following:

          1. Create a new project on the iMac.
          2. Open the Media Browser panel.
          3. In the left side of the Media Browser, navigate to the previous project (the one which contains your work).
          4. Single click on the image of the project file in the left side of the Media Browser.
          5. You should be able to see bins, clips, and sequences from your previous project.
          6. Control click each item and choose "Import."
          7. In the new project, you should now have all the assets you had in your previous project.
          8. Note that you may have to relink clips in the new project.

          Does that work for you?

          Thanks,

          Kevin

            Dear Kevin,

Thank you for your help. I have followed your directions but nevertheless I am still experiencing the problem that the project file does not open it says that it is damaged. I wonder why that is.

In regards to the version of Premiere they are both Premiere Pro CC and they are both 8.1 build. I have tried to copy the synched file to the iMac, also there are many files that were mov. that now say they are not supported and will not open. For those I am trying to change the project which is no big deal but I want to be able to do better for the next time. I would post a screenshot but I just started the program and nothing terrible has happened yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you for helping me, I totally appreciate you!!!!

            Dana
