Hi all,
So I've used a gopro hero 3+BE and recorded in 2.7K resolution to use on a 1920 x 1080 sequence. This way I would have some room / extra pixels for using the warp stabilizer...so the video wouldn't get cropped as much if I were to use 1080p video on a 1080p sequence timeline.
BUT, when I try to drag the warp stabilizer onto the clips, it says "Warp stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence (fix by nesting)" So, I then "nest" the clip which in turn crops the clip to 1920 x 1080, effectively loosing the extra pixels I wanted to use with the warp stabilizer! Seems like catch 22!
So using the warp stabilizer after the clip has been nested means the clip gets cropped and scaled in further thus reducing the resolution / quality. So i might as well have shot at 1080p from the start.
So my question is, is there something I'm doing wrong? or is there a way around this?
I know a lot of people use a larger resolutions than needed when filming so they have room for stabilizing / cropping...but how are they doing it?
Thank you for any help / advice :-)
Paul
Not tried it but could you make a 2.7k sequence and warp stabilise that, using stabilise only or stabilise and crop. Then add this sequence to the 1920x1080 sizing to suit.
