Photoshop CS5 for editing, Elements 11 for organizing: how to improve awkward workflow?

                                                     Photoshop CS5 & Elements-11

I have been using a marriage of these programs over a period of time with limited success. I use Cs5 for editing and the Elements -11 organizer catalogue for filing.   I have recently upgraded my computer and my success has come to an end. Previously I had used Elements 8 but had to upgrade to Element 11 because my new Nikon D800E required an updated Raw Plug-in.  In either case the Cs5 produced a raw file in a version set made up of to two raw files. (Neff & Neff-1) which it nicely placed in the Ellements catalogue. However, the Psd file edit showed up shortly after the fact as a Found File in elements. I then created a Stack. I can still get the Raw version set just fine, But now I cannot get the edited PSD file out of Cs5 editor and into the Elements catalogue.

My work flow begins with downloading the camera files via the camera card into the Elements organizer. The file is then taken into Cs5 for raw file edit, then into the cs5 editor by open file. After performing the PSD file edit it is then saved thru the pull down File menu. However, it will not show up in the Elements catalogue.  If I edit in the Elements editor it works fine.

I then normally after editing and tagging move the files to an external drive. Unfortunately it becomes even more problematical to update images there.

I have to believe that there is a better way to make this marriage work.

      I would appreciate your input.

Bob you do not use Elements for editing you just it organizer.  Its hard to understand why you would do that. LR library is a much better organizer and Bridge is also a good organizer.  It hard to understand why you want the expense and maintenance of elements just for it organized.   Using  Adobe DNG converter you should be able to process new camera RAW data with CS5 version of ACR. Bridge and LR are coded with Photoshop photoshop support in their design.
