1. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
Kevin-Monahan Nov 21, 2014 12:31 PM (in response to ScubaBadger)Hi ScubaBadger,
If your workflow was OK in the previous version, you may want to reinstall it until your current project is complete. Then, update to 8.1 with new projects. Is that possible?
Thanks,
Kevin

2. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
ScubaBadger Nov 21, 2014 2:28 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)Thanks Kevin,
I would but - what installed today was an update to Premier Pro 6 CC - not the 8.1, Caravan CC version.
I am also able to export direct from PP - albeit screwing my timings up badly as I have to wait for renditions to finish.
Most importantly though - I have a stack of plugins registered with this version I'll have to de-register and un-install then un-install Premier and reinstall and then re-install and re-register all the plugins..
At the moment I'll scrape by... thanks.

4. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
ScubaBadger Nov 21, 2014 2:59 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)Hi Kevin
For the sake of it (and cos I've got 36 music videos to push out) I tried the Ctrl + M then "queue" and immediately the little window that pops up saying exporting - Premier Pro goes opaque white and crashes.
Pushing out the same sequence via Ctrl + M the "Export" using the same settings - and it's fine.
I'll just have to plough on for now. Something in that bunch of updates that came in today bust something... but I don't have time to experiment and find out what / why....
Thanks
Dave

5. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
Zooropa75 Nov 21, 2014 3:29 PM (in response to ScubaBadger)This has been a known issue since September. See the discussion thread titled "Exporting to Media Encoder crashes Premiere Pro CC 2014."
The best known workaround is to drag your sequences to export directly into the open AME window, then change the settings there. Make sure you save your project first right before you drag the sequences.
Let's hope the bug gets fixed soon!

Thanks for chiming in.
Before today I was unaware of the issue as it had not presented itself as an issue to me.
I tried (because you suggested it) dragging a sequence into a pre-opened AME window. All that happend was the sequence window detached itself from the main Premier window.
After restoring the window - I went to the now opened AME and used File>Add Premier Pro Sequence and it all ran smooth as silk...
Thanks for the tip... Even though I couldn't identify the "drag" route I got the import sequence nailed.
I still look forward to this being resolved as the original flavour is the one I like best.
Thanks
Dave

7. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
Zooropa75 Nov 21, 2014 3:55 PM (in response to ScubaBadger)Well, you are not dragging the sequence window. Go to PPro's "Project" panel and select one or more sequences to export. Then drag them into the AME "Queue" panel - hover until you see the cursor shows a "+" sign, then release. Before you drag, make sure none of your PPro windows/panels are obscuring the entirety of the AME "Queue" panel, otherwise you won't have a place to drag to.
Also glad to hear that you can use "Add Premier Pro Sequence" from AME. That's another workaround.

You were correct - I wasn't dragging from the project window.
I just returned to the project and dragged a sequence from the project window over and into the queue window in AME, got the "+" and dropped it. Nothing happened, so I went the "File>Add Premier Pro Sequence" route and it appeared immediately.
See the attached video - I'm sure you will be able to put me right.
Thanks

9. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
Zooropa75 Nov 21, 2014 4:41 PM (in response to ScubaBadger)Hmm, that is odd! I drag the sequences in the same way you did, and when I drop, AME immediately pops up a progress-bar window titled "Creating Queue Items from Project". So there is no mistake that something is happening. In your case, AME appears to do some thinking, and then just stops. Not sure what the problem might be... At least you still have your workaround, although it involves more mouse clicks!

ScubaBadger Nov 22, 2014 12:05 PM (in response to Zooropa75)Its really frustrating... but like you say - I have a work around for now. Just got to hope Adobe do something in the next release... they're normally pretty good.

Peferling Nov 22, 2014 2:17 PM (in response to ScubaBadger)How does it work if you close PPro, open AME and import a sequence via AME? Maybe your have a conflict wherein both of them cant be running at the same time?

12. Re: Premier Pro CC sequence sent to AME does not get to open in AME
ScubaBadger Nov 22, 2014 4:00 PM (in response to Peferling)I Can import the sequence with both open, I don't need to try independent open / closed options,
