1. Re: While working on my file things get automatically deleted/moved and become non-recoverable
gener7 Nov 22, 2014 11:58 AM (in response to bcflow)Yosemite upgrade has been known to cause problems with Adobe software.
First, be sure you are updated to 10.10.1
I know you have a Mac, what I don't know is the exact version of Photoshop.
Please get me the version number out of Help > System Info
And I can't stress this enough, set up and use Time Machine. You can recover files from an hour or two back even without the external drive that you set up for it.

JJMack Nov 22, 2014 11:59 AM (in response to bcflow)Photoshop is not a file editor it does not work on file. It works with data structures and can save different image file formats using its data structures. If Photoshop was a file editor the file format would be PSB. If Photoshop data structure become messes up I would expect any file format save using the messes up data would also be messed up. You need to explain where you first start seeing corruption and what you did prior to then.

bcflow Nov 22, 2014 1:12 PM (in response to gener7)Thanks for the replies.
I am using the latest version of PS CC (2014.2.1 20141014.r.257) and Yosemite 10.10.1.
What happened is I had 3 image layers (plain photos) with 2 adjustment layers on top of them. I would edit some text and after doing so the masks in the adj layers would become full of "noise" and in some of the images cropped areas would remove parts of the image. If I opened a saved version of the file the same artifacts would happen and I would need to start over.
What I did to fix the issue is just merge all of these layers together and since then no issues.
