    AVI files corrupt?

    Collecter91 Community Member

      Hi All,

I previously put a folder of AVI files onto a Windows 7 PC from an external drive. Now when importing to Premiere, it says the files are not supported. I tried going to Media Encoder and changing the file type, but Encoder tells me the files are corrupt. Additionally there is a separate video file and audio for each clip. The video clip can be opened using Windows Media Player, but it only plays the audio part of the file (doesn't think there is video). Premiere will import the audio file, but not the video file.

Any help? Are the files actually corrupt or is Adobe being weird? Lack of a specific codec?

      Any help is appreciated.

      Thanks

EDIT: I have since rewrapped the files into .mp4 and still receive the unsupported/damaged error in Premiere.
