I just downloaded the latest release 2014.1 and not my Ajatix Advanced CSS Menu extension no longer works!!!! I get the following error message:-
TypeError: AJXCSSMenu.Start is not a function
On another note I thought you were going to try to help with the spry menus going verticle problem thread.

Nancy O. Nov 23, 2014 10:51 AM (in response to justbobm202)Do you have Creative Cloud? Are you running the October release of DW CC 2014.1? If not, that remark about another product is irrelevant to your situation.
I have not used any Ajatix products so I can't comment on them. If you have questions or concerns about 3rd party extensions, you really should take it up directly with the developer of those products. I'm certain they know more about them than we do. If they offer a free trial, you might want to try before you buy and make your own decision.
I can't speak for Ben, but as far as I'm concerned, Spry is a waste of time. It doesn't work on Touch devices so it's not worth salvaging. IMO, too much effort and not nearly enough reward.

justbobm202 Nov 23, 2014 12:47 PM (in response to Nancy O.)No I'm not using CC version but if people can't use that software maybe I'm better off with something else in case Inwant to upgrade toCC Is my thinking So we don't have to keep changing menus. I am a bit surprised that when Adobe removed Spry they just left all the users with nothing to make menus.
I Called Ajatix Friday during business hours and no one picked up the phone.
now your last comment about Spry why do you think I'm asking about Ajatix? Also the problem with the index page I donot think it is because of spry because the other 459 pages look ok and they all have Spry menus so it must code somewhere that is wrong.

DW's strength is as an HTML, CSS and JavaScript editor. Widgets, Menus and Behaviors are not DW's strength and never have been -- going all the way back to Macromedia days. These features are little more than icing on the cake for new and casual users who don't know how to code their own. Most experienced web developers stay away from them & regard them as little more than junkware.
In 2013, when DW CC was rolling out for the first time, DW's team decided to rely on 3rd party widgets in the jQuery UI rather than code their own. But at the 11th hour, jQuery pulled their menus because there was something wrong with them. So CC was forced to roll out sans the navigation menu and it was several more months before jQuery UI released a new and improved menu.
With all the rapid changes occurring in DW CC, I'm not too surprised this got overlooked. Other matters took priority especially since you could (and still can) get menus directly from jQuery UI.
So that's it in a nutshell.

Ben Pleysier Nov 23, 2014 3:25 PM (in response to justbobm202)I'm in with Nancy regarding the SpryMenuBar. It is out of date and should in reality not be used for modern web design.
In contrast, have a look at the menu-bar in this Starter Template for Bootstrap.
Decrease the width of the browser and see how the menu-bar turns into a drop-down bar. Decrease the height and use the scroll-bar to see that the menu-bar stays fixed at the top of the screen.
The former characteristic is important when the menu-bar loses the real-estate (width), the latter is important in eliminating scrolling back up to get to the menu-bar.
For the complete Bootstrap system go to Bootstrap · The world's most popular mobile-first and responsive front-end framework.

justbobm202 Nov 30, 2014 7:47 AM (in response to justbobm202)Yesterday, I bought Ajatix suite of 5 programs and I'm just starting using their advanced css menu program and could not be happier with it. I dove right in and only had to look at instructions for about a half hour and then sailed to making a new menu with their GUI Program for the luna site and now have it already published. Too bad for me that Adobe could not make menus that worked for a costly program that DWCS6 was. They have a light box for images program so now I will have to see if I can also replace the spytooltips or fond something else. Thanks for the help people.
